Happy Halloween

Trick or Treat everyone! Julia had a week full of halloween fun. We got to dress up to go to our weekly music class, Kindermusik, a hay ride Wednesday, a carnival at our church, and a few other house calls. Julia enjoyed her costume and was not bothered by her fruit hat at all. She was adorable.

I will try and explain all of the pictures since I do not yet know how to label each one. One is me, Ryan, and Julia on Halloween getting ready for the hay ride. We did not actually go on the hay ride since it was bed time anyway and a little too dangerous for a 5 month old, but we enjoyed seeing our cousins axiously await the big event. There are several pictures of out Kindermusik class and friends. Logan is the clown. He is so precious. He would not move one step when he had his outfit on. We tried to get a group shot, but getting 15 one year olds to stay still was impossible. Another photo is the three of us at a Georgia/Ole Miss game in Athens. We got Julia a red troll wig. For both Georgia and Ole Miss. Everyone would pass by us and ask if it was a real baby. She did like the wig too much since it was way too big and getting in her mouth and eyes, but she sure was funny with it on. Ryan was in a wedding this weekend and here is a photo of Julia with her handsome daddy. She stayed home with her Uncle Burt and Aunt Courtney while Ryan and I went to the wedding. Here is a photo of us about to get on the dance floor for the rest of the night. That's right, Ryan danced with me all night. We had a blast!

The past 2 weeks or so have been busy as usual. We had company almost all week and Julia got lots of attention. She has many aunts and uncles who want to hold her and love on her all the time. And for the most part she lets them. We have not mastered nap time yet so she is a bit fussy in the evenings. But she has been sleeping 11-12 hrs a night.

I am trying to get her to sit up. I think it will be a huge change when she learns this seeing as I can just put her in a grocery cart or high chair without carrying the heavy car seat that we both hate. Julia has learned that seeing the car means she is about to get in the car seat and she will start crying as soon as we open the car door. She hates the car seat but usually will settle down once we start going. But back to sitting up. I have been playing with her in her crib sitting her up and playing with toys in front of her. Surprisingly, she sat up for a few seconds the first day we tried. She still does nose dives but she is quickly learning. Her legs are very strong, in case you cant tell by how well she stands. So when we try to put her in the car seat or to sit, she stiffens her body and straightens her legs so she can't bend. It's quite funny.

Ryan and I have tried some new drinks/foods this week. I have started giving her a little bit of juice during the day for between feedings. She has done great. At first she really wasn't interested in it, but after a few attempts she will suck the bottle dry. I can even prop her on a pillow and she can give herself the bottle. It can't be too heavy, and she can't hold it up long, but she does pretty well. We also gave her a lemon for the first time this week. Of course it was funny seeing her prune up but she kept grabbing it and putting it back in her mouth. We even got both of these on film.

We will keep posting so keep checking. She is always doing new exciting milestones and we love sharing her with all of you.
